The most versatile and affordable diapering system! A Cloth Diaper Cover is a waterproof yet breathable wrap or “cover” that goes over an absorbent cloth diaper.
Cloth Diaper Covers can be used with any absorbent diapering system- flats, prefolds, inserts, and fitteds.
This cloth diaper system is “old school”, but remains the one of most versatile, affordable, and the easiest to care for.
The cover cloth diapering system is for anyone who wants to cloth diaper economically or those who need or choose to hand wash.
The Diaper Cover system is very simple - all you need is the diaper cover overtop to provide waterproofing and flats, prefolds, inserts, or fitteds for the absorbent part.
We know a concern for parents new to cloth is finding the right fit for your baby. Diaper Covers should be used with prefolds, flats, inserts, or fitted cloth diapers. You can simply wrap the cover around your cloth diaper, or use the inner front and back flaps to tuck your prefold or flat under.
Fabric Information
Waterproof Diaper Covers are waterproof, breathable and reusable.
They do not contain any absorbent materials on their own, but are made to be used over top of absorbent diapers such as prefolds, fitteds and flats.
Wool Covers are made from 95% merino wool and 5% spandex. This material is stretchy and breathable, giving you a great fit over prefolds, flats, inserts, or fitted diapers.Take comfort in knowing these diapers are free of the chemicals that are found in disposable diapers. With 2 layers of interlock wool, these covers are thick enough to help prevent leaks overnight.
To make wool covers waterproof, you will need to lanolize them. Lanolizing is the process of putting lanolin inside a wool diaper cover to ensure that the moisture cannot get through to the outside of the cover.
Wool wash is a laundry detergent that is made specifically to keep your woolies nice and fresh.
It’s always recommended to wash any new cloth diapers products before use, to remove any dust from manufacturing and shipping.
Diaper Covers only need to be washed once prior to use. You can simply throw your new products in the wash with your normal laundry or diaper laundry.
We recommend you do not use fabric softener or bleach on any cloth diaper products.
The washing and care of flat diapers is pretty easy and straight forward! Our recommendation is below.
Remove solids your preferred way: Knock solids into toilet, Dunk n’ Swish, use a diaper sprayer, or diaper liner to help.
Separate diaper from the diaper cover before washing.
Run a rinse cycle on cold.
Run a full cycle wash on warm/hot with additive-free detergent. We recommend the use of Tide detergent. Do not use detergents with added softeners or stain removers.
For best results, run one more rinse cycle on warm/cold.
Line dry or tumble dry or on low/medium heat.
