Nicki's Diapers Overnight Merino Wool Cloth Diaper Cover - Lagoon

3 reviews

Description

Nicki's Diapers Merino Overnight Wool Covers are a great diapering solution for your little one! Lanolizing wool is self-cleaning, and only needs to be washed and lanolized every 3-4 weeks unless soiled.

Nicki's Interlock Merino Wool Covers are silky and stretchy. While the overnight design has an increased ability to prevent leaks, the material is still breathable for baby. In addition to overnight use, these diapers are perfect for daytime use since they fit under clothing.

Fabric

With 2 layers of interlock wool, these covers are thick enough to help prevent leaks overnight. Wool covers are made from 95% merino wool and 5% spandex. This material is stretchy and breathable, giving you a great fit over prefoldsflatsinserts, or fitted diapers.

Take comfort in knowing these diapers are free of the chemicals that are found in disposable diapers.

Preparing for Use
It’s always recommended to wash any new cloth diaper products before use, to remove any dust from manufacturing and shipping.

With wool, the care and prep is a bit different than your traditional polyester reusable diaper cover. Fill a bowl or your sink with lukewarm water and wool wash to the package instructions. Allow the wool to soak for 30 minutes before removing and laying out to dry.

*If you are washing more than one article of clothing at a time ensure that they are like colors

Once your wool has been cleaned you will need to lanolize them. The lanolizing process is what allows your wool to be waterproof.

What you will need:
    1) 1 cup of very hot water
    2) 1 tsp of lanolin
    3) 1-2 emulsifying cubes
    4) 3-4 cups of tepid water
    5) Large bowl, clean sink, or gallon sized leak-proof bag

Directions:
   1) Add your lanolin and emulsifying cubes to the cup of very hot water and
       allow to melt completely
   2) Turn your wool inside out and gently place in your vessel of choice
   3) Mix your lanolin, emulsifying cubes, and very hot water well.
   4) Temper the lanolin mixture with the tepid water until it’s fully incorporated
   5) Add the mixture to your wool and allow to soak for 30 minutes to an hour
   6) Remove the wool and lay flat to dry
   7) Repeat the steps here twice if you’re using wool overnight

How to Use

To Use:

1) Secure absorbent cloth diaper on baby (sold separately)
2) Pull wool cover overtop for waterproof protection
3) Reuse if not soiled for up to two weeks until the lanolin wears off
4) Repeat the wash and lanolizing process every two weeks

Wash and Care

Washing Your Diapers:

1) Remove solids: Knock solids into toilet, Dunk n’ Swish, use a diaper sprayer, or diaper liner to help.

2) Remove absorbent materials from the diaper cover before washing.

3) Fill a bowl or your sink with lukewarm water and wool wash to the package instructions

4) Allow the wool to soak for 30 minutes

5) Lay flat to dry

*Remember, wool does not need to be washed every use unless soiled

Nicki’s Recommendation

We recommend having 3-5 Overnight Wool Covers for nightly use, but quantity may vary per child as some children need to be changed more frequently throughout the night.

    Nickis wool diaper cover

I have a berry colored one that we love! Soft, cool even in summer & easier to put on than snap or Velcro diaper covers. Wish we had known about these earlier. I ordered this one so we would have 2, Unfortunately it never arrived, no fault of Nicki’s. The tracker says it was delivered to our locked mailbox but we never received it. In the past there has been no way to resolve this since postal service says it was delivered. We love Nickie’s !

Nickie's Overnight Wool Diaper Cover is excellent quality. I haven't had any problems with leakage. It's soft! My baby's sensitive skin loves it! Great cover!

Really good Wool cover for the $$

So far I am liking this cover but it is a bit different than other Wool covers that I have compared: It is a bit stiffer and does not form to your LOs body as much as like the Disana or Imagine covers. They are still very soft but not fuzzy at all. I have had them get a little bit damp around the legs I think because of the extra little fabric that is lining the leg cuffs but I am going to anolize it once more (I have lanolized it twice only) and see if that helps as it just may not be lanolized enough. The imagine really only took one lano bath and I could feel it really latching on to the lanolin and I am thinking it stole quite a bit from this cover since the lanolin seemed to kind of sit on the Nicki's cover and really takes extra massaging to get the lanolin in so doing a solo lanolin bath would probably help.
