It’s always recommended to wash any new cloth diaper products before use, to remove any dust from manufacturing and shipping.
With Natural Fibers, we recommend washing these flats 3-5 times with detergent, drying in between to maximize absorbency. Natural fibers will become more absorbent over time.
If you prefer to use after one wash, note that you will need to change sooner or add additional absorbency.
You can simply throw your new products in the wash with your normal laundry or diaper laundry. We recommend you do not use fabric softener or bleach on any cloth diaper products.
Nicki's Diapers Flat Cloth Diapers are easy to use!
To Use:
1) Fold the flat in your favorite fold (pad fold, origami, kite, mini kite, etc.)
2) Secure with a fastener
3)Put a cloth diaper cover over top for waterproof protection OR cover with a pocket diaper
Washing Your Flat Cloth Diapers:
1) Remove solids: Knock solids into toilet
2) Remove any snapped in or stuffed absorbency materials before washing
3) Running a rinse cycle on cold
4) Run a full cycle wash on warm/hot with additive-free detergent
5) For best results, run one more rinse cycle on cold
6) Line dry or tumble dry or on low heat
Care For Your Diapers:
Fabric softeners and rash creams can ruin the effectiveness of the absorbency. We recommend you do not use them. If you need to use a rash cream, we recommend the use of a liner along with cloth diaper-friendly products.Dirty diapers and inserts should not go unwashed longer than 2-3 days for risk of staining.

I would agree with the other review comparing these to GMD muslin flats, however I don't think they feel softer. They are thinner and more pliable, but the fabric itself feels rougher than the GMD muslin flats (which I would describe as thicker, stiffer, but smoother). I think this is probably though bc the GMD ones are unbleached. Bleached cotton always feels rougher. So it's a bit of comparing apples and oranges in that regard. I do a Pickman fold or origami fold so I do wish these were perfectly square, but perfectly square flats are hard to come by. If you want a trimmer flat that's super affordable and still absorbs a lot for its weight, give these a go. I will say these hold as much as my GMD flats without leaking, but due to their being thinner, they are soaked. But still, no leaks. And lots of folks use flats for affordability and ease of rinsing/washing and these definitely fit the bill in that regard. These are also the first thing I reach for for burp cloths. I find they absorb spit up milk faster than some thicker cloths like flannel.
I bought these to be more absorbent than my cotton flats and they were not. Very disappointed
Hi Joni! We do have a 15 day wash return! Please email info@nickisdiapers.com for more information!
I was looking for the old world cotton flat diapers. They felt like almost like soft thin flannel. I took a chance on these but not at all soft or what I would use for a burp towel.
Hi Diane! I am sorry to hear you are unhappy with the product you received. Please email info@nickisdiapers.com if there is anything we can do to assist you!
I mainly use pocket diapers but wanted to try my hand at flats. These were the first flats I added to my cart and I’m glad I did. They have been super easy to use for a beginner like me. Great for daytime diapering. I am beyond pleased.
I never write reviews, but I feel this might help somebody: Compared to Green Mountain Diapers (GMD) Muslin flats, they are softer and thinner. However, the absorbency is the same. I have used the Nicki's Diapers Muslin size large for over a year, and out of the pack of 6, one has a hole from me bleaching the flats constantly at the laundromat before moving into my place with a washer and dryer. (I'm not too fond of handwashing, and my portable washer kept breaking down.) I prefer Nicki's over GMD because it is softer and feels more pliable when wrapping around in a kite fold. GMD keeps a perfectly square shape, but the fabric is stiffer. When it comes to value, softness, fast shipping,& the sezzle option: Nicki's diapers are the best bang for your buck. The fact that it doesn't keep square doesn't bother me. You can fold it to make a perfect square. The softness gives the exact fit as a stretchy flat, and you can't get that with GMD.
