Fitted Cloth Diapers

What is a Fitted Cloth Diaper?

Fitted diapers are a contoured inner liner used with a diaper cover or an all in two hybrid cloth diaper system. Fitted diapers have snaps or hook & loop closures and elastic around legs to contain leaks. One-size fitted cloth diapers are easy to put on with no folding required, and are very absorbent, but must be used with a waterproofdiaper cover.

Fitted diaper pros: They are convenient but still less expensive than all in one diapers. Fitted diaper liners are easy to use and very absorbent. They make a great nighttime cloth diaper. Fitted diaper cons: They require a diaper cover and usually take longer to dry than a prefold diaper but still dry faster than an All In One diaper (AIO)

Fitted Diapers Are Washable.

All our fitted cloth diapers are made with high-quality materials and are machine washable and dryable. With their low prices and quick turnaround time, you’ll need fewer diapers to keep your baby in fresh, clean and absorbent diapers all day.

Fitted Cloth Diapers Are Less Bulky.

Fitted diapers are less bulky compared to flats and prefolds because of two factors:

1.) Their hourglass, fitted shape had fabric where you need it and not in various folds wrapped around your baby.

2) Their absorbent material is wrapped around your baby's body, not just between their legs, meaning more even coverage.

Fitted Cloth Diapers Common Questions:

  • Get rid of solids by shaking them out into the toilet, using a diaper sprayer, or using the dunk and swish technique.

  • Put in a diaper pail until you are ready to wash.

  • Make a tough-duty wash using hot water and the amount of detergent recommended by experts.

  • Rinse.

What Is A Fitted Diaper?

The term "fitted" is used to describe diaper covers that are sized and shaped to fit snugly on your baby's body. Fitted cloth diapers are made with elastic or snaps to keep them snugly around baby bottoms. Fitted cloth diapers come in various shapes and sizes to suit your baby's needs but generally fall into two categories - Newborn or One-Size.

Do Fitted Diapers Need Covers?

Yes. Fitted cloth diapers require an appropriate cloth diaper cover over them. This diaper cover could be a regular PUL/TPU diaper cover, a wool diaper cover, or a fleece cover. Fitted diapers don't generally have waterproofing on their own.

The Benefits Of Fitted Cloth Diapers

Fitted cloth diapers are less prone to leaks than prefold diapers as there's less likely to be a misfolded edge or anything. Also, you don't have to worry about diaper pins or other fasteners, and fitted diapers have hook and loop fasteners or snaps making them a little easier to use.

The adjustability of the newborn fitted cloth diapers can accommodate babies as large as 9lbs. A one-size diaper is usually suitable for babies from eight pounds to more than 30lbs. Fitted diapers can adjust as your baby grows.

In addition, cloth diapers are much easier on your baby’s skin. Then, after your baby is done using the cloth diapers you can save them for the next baby or sell them on to another parent, making them even more cost effective.

What Materials Are Used For Fitted Cloth Diapers?

Fitted cloth diapers are typically made of bamboo, cotton or hemp and are constructed from any of these three materials.

Hybrid fitted diapers are made with a lining made of poly-fleece in the diaper, which improves its absorbency and wicks away moisture from the baby's skin.

Standard fitted diapers will need a waterproof diaper cover over top for waterproofing.

Bamboo fitted diapers are also well known for their absorbency. Bamboo absorbs liquid quickly and stays soft even after repeated washes.

The hemp fitted diapers are luxuriously soft and absorbent diapers. The hemp fitted diapers have a layer of organic fleece to keep your baby feeling dry.
